It contains the sequence encompassing psn 27885-32795 in the Ad5 genome including the E3 region and a Ad5/35 hybrid fiber gene. Almost all E3 genes (2.7 kb BglII fragment including gp19K membrane protein and the adenovirus "death" protein) were deleted, and replaced with a multiple cloning site, which allows for the insertion of expression cassettes in the E3 region.
